Participants at the Mature Students Maths Fresher Course
4 September 2009
DIT's first Mature Students "Maths Camp" Refresher Course took place on the 1st and 2nd of September in DIT Aungier Street, and was attended by over 100 incoming students on each day. Run by the Mature Student Support Service and the Student Maths Learning Centre, the Maths Camp was focused on incoming mature and advanced entry students to programmes in Engineering, Science and the Built Environment. According to Bob O Murchu, Mature Student Support Officer, “Some mature students may have not studied in a few years so we felt it would be helpful to offer them a re-introduction to the basic maths that they would need in their studies here at DIT.”
