Conservatory of Music and Drama Open Day
The DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama Open Day will take place on Saturday 4th March from 11am to 3pm in DIT Rathmines Road, Dublin 6. The Open Day is an ideal opportunity for parents and prospective students of all ages to come and discover the wide range of study opportunities available at the Conservatory. Current students will perform individual and ensemble pieces and teaching staff will be on hand to answer any questions.
Brid Grant, Head of the Conservatory, invites all those with an interest in studying music to come along. 'Teachers will be available throughout the day to demonstrate instruments and to answer any questions. We will be delighted to talk to people, whether they are starting music for the first time or are thinking of returning to it!'
The Conservatory's programmes offer a great range of learning opportunities: the Kids' Club is open to children as young as three, while the Music Workshop caters for five to seven year olds. Seven to eleven year olds interested in learning how to play a wind instrument may start in the Recorder Class and the 'Musical Theatre for Teenagers' is always popular with older students. In addition, individual tuition in the broadest range of instruments and voice is also available.
Closing date for receipt of application for the April auditions is Wednesday 15 March 2006. Late applications will be considered after the above date; subject to places being available.
