Research Interests

Jean previously worked as a Senior food researcher for the Consumers' Association of Ireland where she managed dozens of National and European-funded food research projects in collaboration with colleagues across Europe and represented the Association on National and European committees and Boards.

Additional Information

Jean is responsible for pre-award research development and strategic planning in Food & Health Sciences as well as promoting DIT's research and enterprise activities in Research News and on the DRE website. She has worked as an evaluator for over 25 years for the European Commission including Marie Curie; Food; SME; and COST programmes. She was a member of the Societal Challenge 2 Expert Advisory Group and the H2020 Advisory Group on Gender from 2014 to 2016 and is currently a member of the Science with and for Society H2020 Expert advisory group. She represents DIT on the National Athena Swan Steering Committee. Jean is co-located in DIT Rathmines House and in DIT Sackville Place. She has completed undergraduate degrees in Science; Food Science & Technology; and Law and holds a Masters degree in Food Science & Technology.
