Following on from his win in the Men's four at the University Championships, Niall continues to excel as an athlete after his stellar performance in the Men's lightweight quad race at the world U-23 rowing championships in Poznan on Saturday.  Niall along with his teammates -Miles Taylor, Ryan Ballantine and cox Andrew Goff - were in the last place as the race began, but fought to secure an impressive silver medal in a performance that thrilled spectators and fans. The Irish team won bronze in the same event last year with Niall on board, and this year’s crew were thrilled to improve their performance after coming through the repechage following the heats to secure their place in the A Final. Italy took gold in the race, while the United States settled for bronze.

Niall is an Elite Sporting Scholar at DIT and a member of the Institute's Rowing Club. If you're a student with interest in the sport, more information is available on the DIT Sports website and the DIT Rowing Club's Facebook page
