DIT to host International Manufacturing ConferencePosted: 5 June, 2018
State-of-the-art manufacturing technologies, design innovations and new approaches to talent management will be explored at this year’s International Manufacturing Conference on Wednesday 20 June in DIT Bolton Street.
The conference, which is presented annually by the Irish Manufacturing Council, is focusing on the theme of “Engineering Skills and Talent for the Future”, with presentations covering a broad range of topics including energy and resource management, 3D printing, medical device design and manufacture, design thinking in engineering, engineering talent management, and apprenticeships.
The lineup of key speakers includes:
- Barry Kennedy, Irish Manufacturing Research
- Professor Denis Dowling, UCD, iForm research centre
- Fergal O’Brien, IBEC
- Shane Loughlin, SL Controls
- Philip Gillic, Dromone Engineering
- Dr Richard Keegan, Enterprise Ireland
Undergraduate and postgraduate researchers will display posters showcasing their research projects throughout the conference, with students pitching their work to attendees and potential employers in the academic and industrial sectors.
Following the conference, a celebratory meal will be held in Blas Café beside DIT Bolton Street.
The conference provides an excellent opportunity for attendees to network with experts in their field, innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers and government agencies.
