Join DIT for a live CAO chat in June
When you filled out your CAO form earlier this year, you probably had lots of distractions, such as studying for your mocks but between Friday, 4th May at 12 pm and 5.15pm on Sunday, 1st July you can make some changes to your original choices. DIT has some tips to help you reconsider your options.
Think what you’d genuinely like to study
Frank Costello, Head of Enrolment Planning & Admissions at DIT advises choosing a programme that you’ll enjoy. "We would always encourage students to think about what they want to study, what they would really find fulfilling, and what they can gain from their college experience. If they have a strong sense of that, they will get there even if the route to achieving it becomes a varied one! For that reason, it’s essential to use all your CAO choices – at Level 6/7 as well as Level 8.”
Do your research
Don’t rely just on the names of qualifications – you’ll get a better understanding of what a course is about by reading a synopsis, what modules are covered and what the learning outcomes are. You can find all that information on the admission areas of college websites. You will find everything you need to know about DIT courses on our site. You can also download our prospectus here or check with your teachers to see if they have a copy.
There's plenty of advice available if you need it!
If you’ve been mulling over whether to change your preferences on the CAO, you might benefit from talking to someone else about it. Your school guidance counsellor or a teacher may be available to speak with you, and your parents and friends are also good people to bounce ideas off. You can also contact DIT Admissions Office by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. The DIT Admission team will also host some live CAO chat sessions for prospective students between 9am-5pm every day from Monday, 25 June 2018 and Friday 29th June.
