Posted: 22 March, 2018

On Tuesday, DIT hosted a panel discussion in Bolton Street "Creating a Diverse and Inclusive Workplace for Engineering and Construction – lessons learned from other industries”.

Chaired by DIT alumnus Dr Sarah Ingle, Secretary General, Association of Consulting Engineers, the panel included Melanie Sheppard, Finance Director, Pfizer Healthcare Ireland, Pat O’Doherty, Chief Executive ESB, Sara Devitt, Associate Director, AECOM and Dr Ashley O’Donoghue, Head of Staff Learning & Development, DIT.

With a focus on diversity and inclusion, each of the panellists discussed a range of initiatives in their organisations and highlighted positive actions that can help to inspire change, particularly in the engineering and built environment sectors. The discussion was followed by a lively questions and answers session with an audience that included guests from industry, students and DIT alumni.
