DIT celebrates Science Week with packed programme of eventsPosted: 14 November, 2017
DIT will welcome 2500 secondary students and 200 primary students this week for a jam-packed programme of fun, interactive events for Science Week 2017 (13-20 November).
The programme aims to actively engage young students in science that is relevant to their everyday lives, and to expose them to the breadth of science on offer at DIT.
The DIT College of Sciences and Health will host no less than 10 separate events to celebrate the week. The lineup includes exciting lecture-demonstrations on the science of bubbles, the genetics revolution, the physics of martial arts, and an exploration of vampires, blood and chemistry.
DIT contribute significantly to the national Science Week initiative each year. The Institute’s involvement goes back 21 years when it organised demonstration lectures in its labs for secondary students, says DIT Lecturer, Dr Siobhan Daly, who has coordinated Science Week for DIT since the beginning.
