Photoworks Exhibition in National Photo Archive
An exhibition of photography presented by students of DIT's School of Media will open in the National Photographic Archive in Temple Bar next week. Entitled Photoworks, the exhibition will showcase emerging talent in contemporary photography and video installation.
The fifteen students participating in the exhibition will graduate this year from DIT's honours degree programme in Photography. Some of those exhibiting are already making their mark as talented photographers. Daragh Shanahan collaborated with children from St Michaels Estate as part of the After Schools Programme called 'Stick Stories' which is currently on view at IMMA. Vincent Lestienne will be featured in the upcoming 'Diversions' festival, in a specially curated slide show by the Gallery of Photography. This will be screened in Meeting House Square beginning June 29 in conjunction with UCD's 'Photography and the City' conference.
Photoworks will be launched on Wednesday 14th June, and the exhibition will be open to the public from Thursday 15 - Monday 26 June at:
National Photographic Archive
Meeting House Square
The show will be accompanied by a catalogue and there will be an opportunity to purchase original photographs.
