The Department of Transport Engineering
The Department of Transport Engineering is one of the largest departments in Bolton Street. It provides a number of courses, both technical and managerial, across a range of disciplines focused on the Transport Industry. The diversity of the courses provided reflects its involvement in training for all transport modes (Road, Rail Sea and Air). The department has a fulltime staff of forty, all widely experienced in the transport field.
The Transport Industry is an exciting area in which to make a career and it offers many opportunities to suitably qualified and motivated people. It is one in which the challenges are great and the rewards substantial. The many employment prospects offered by the industry, both nationally and internationally, include careers in government departments and agencies, passenger operations, freight forwarding, transport related manufacturing, travel and tourism companies, and retail distribution chains.
The programmes offered by the Department allow graduates to access career paths in these areas and fully prepare and equip them to meet the challenges and demands of an ever-changing transport sector.
