July: Team DIT excels in Formula Student at Silverstone
A team of students from the DIT School of Manufacturing and Design and Mechanical and Transport Engineering competed in the highly competitive Formula Student Class 2 competition at Silverstone last week. Competing for the first time, the DIT team scored an exceptional 78% mark in all three categories at the event. June: Engineering Student wins Prestigous Award
James O Meara, a final year Manufacturing and Design Engineering student (DT023) has won the Innovative Student Engineer 2010 (Level 8) award with his final year project entitled the “Quicklink”. Sponsored by Siemens and Engineers Ireland, this prestigious award is given to projects illustrating innovation in engineering. April 2009: School of Manufacturing and Design Engineering Student visits NASA
Mark Wylie, a biomedical engineering PhD researcher in the School of Manufacturing and Design Engineering Bolton Street, currently working on a research project with my supervisor Dr Graham Gavin recently visited the European Space Agency (ESA), International Space University (ISU) and attended the Summer Space Program (SSP) at the ISU.

July 2009: Product Design Student wins prestigious award
Product Design student Pearl O' Rourke recently won the Institute of Engineering Design ' Quality of work in Final Year Project' award. For her project she designed a novel phlebotemy aid.
