Continuing Professional Development Programmes in Welding

THE NEXT AVAILABLE WELDING COURSES WILL COMMENCE IN SEPTEMBER 2013. CURRENTLY ALL WELDING COURSES ARE FULL AND DUE TO CONSTRUCTION WORK IN LINENHALL DURING JUNE TO SEPTEMBER THE BUILDING WILL BE CLOSED.

PLEASE NOTE: To apply for a course you need to complete an application form and return it to as at the address stated at the bottom of this page.

DT039: Manual Metal Arc (Stick Welding) and Oxy Acetylene Gas

This is a Level 1 Welding Course, and no experience is necessary to join this course.  This is a practical welding course which leads to Welding Qualifications to European Norm (EN287) on mild steel materials.  Materials used on the course are low carbon steel plate and pipe.

DT040: Gas Shielded Arc Welding - MIG & TIG

This is an advanced course, leading to ASME IX and EN287 Welding Qualifications.  Materials used on this course are aluminium sheet, stainless steel sheet and pipe and low carbon steel plate.  There is some materials technology and welding theory covered on this course. 

DT041: Advanced Plate & Pipe Welding

This is an Advanced Arc Welding Course, leading to ASME IX and EN287 and BS4872 Welder qualifications.  Materials used on the course are low carbon steel plate and schedule 80 pipe.

Course Duration

Duration of each course is two nights night per week for ten weeks from 6.00p.m–9.00p.m, September to December and January to April. 

Course fee

The fee for these courses is currently set at €795.00 for the Academic Year 2012/2013 (This may be subject to change, please check the website prior to application).  A further examination fee must be paid in week seven/eight of the course for students wishing to take the end of course examinations leading to accredited welder qualifications.
