About the School of Management
The School of Management, based in state of the art premises at Aungier Street, offers a range of full-time and part-time programmes in business and management at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Full-time undergraduate level 8 degree programmes are offered through the Department of Management Information Systems and Department of Management Studies and include the B.Sc. Business Computing DT354, B.Sc. Logistics and Supply Chain Management DT358 and B.Sc. Human Resource Management DT398. The School also partners with other Schools in the College of Business for the delivery of general business level 8 degree programmes, such as the Bachelor of Business Studies DT364 and the B.Sc. Business and Management DT365.
The School has a long heritage of providing a comprehensive range of Part-time Continuing Professional Education Programmes for almost all business professional bodies and is recognized nationally as a key centre for such provision; these part-time level 8 degree programmes are offered in the evening through the Department of Continuing Professional Education and include the Bachelor of Business Studies DT331, Business and Legal Studies DT370 and B.Sc. Human Resource Management DT332 which has been offered successfully for more than a decade. Both part and full-time Human Resource Management (HRM) programmes are supported by one of the largest critical mass of HRM lecturers in the Republic of Ireland and are accredited by the key professional body in the area, Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD). The School has also provided tailor made programmes and modules designed to meet specific organisational needs and has delivered programmes on behalf of the Allied Irish Bank, National Procurement Service, Office of Public Works, Contact Centre Management Association, ICT Ireland, Skillnets, Ericsson, Epitech and Springboard.
Postgraduate programmes include the part-time Diploma in Management of Technology DT382, Master of Science in Technology and Innovation Management DT385 offered in conjunction with ICT Ireland and full-time Masters in Technology and Innovation Management DT384.
The School also offers a unique one-year Masters in Applied Software Technology DT340A run in conjunction with ICT Ireland Skillnet and LM Ericsson which is free to students and offers a full-time and permanent position with LM Ericsson upon satisfactory completion. The programme is supported by Skillnets Ltd through its Job Seekers Support Programme which is funded from the National Training Fund through the Department of Education and Skills.
The School has a significant and rapidly growing research community at Doctorate level and growing output of research publications (see staff profiles).
