Managed Print Services for Students
Ricoh have deployed a Managed Student Printing system across all DIT campuses. The system includes a range of deviceswhich students may use to scan, print or copy.
The service also allows users to print from DIT's networked computers or their own laptopsand securely release their prints anywhere in the DIT (even at other sites to where the prints have been sent from). Prints are not released until the username and pin number are entered into the Print Release Station next to the printer being accessed. Users of the system are advised not to give out their PIN to anyone. Payment options include an Internet based solution allowing users to top-up their printing credit from any PC or even via mobile phones. Cash-accepting machines are also available in all main libraries.

As part of the DIT's Green-IT strategy, the most commonly used print-queue (A4 Black & White) is set to print on both sides (Duplex). In order to print single side only, users are requested to either use a single-side only print queue where available or adjust the Finishing settings when sending prints. Instructions on how to adjust this setting can be found here.
