Matlab for Dublin Institute of Technology

DIT has a Total Academic Headcount (TAH) license for MATLAB, Simulink, and add-on products. Staff and Students may use these products for teaching, research, and learning purposes. The license entitles DIT to install the products on Institute-owned computers, as well as Staff and Students to install on personally owned computers.

About Matlab and Simulink

MATLAB, the language of technical computing, is a programming environment for algorithm development, data analysis, visualization, and numeric computation. Simulink is a graphical environment for simulation and Model-Based Design of multidomain dynamic and embedded systems. 

Staff and Students Personal Use: Download and Install

1. Click on the 'Get Access' Link above

2. Enter your Student or Staff number credentials and click login.

3. Create a MathWorks account using your DIT email address (i.e. StudentNumber@mydit.ie or Staffnumber@dit.ie) and select a new MathWorks password

4. Complete the registration process by clicking on the link emailed to your DIT email address.

5. You now have access to download the latest version (64bit only) and earlier versions of Matlab & Simulink for PC/Mac/Linux from the www.mathworks.com website. 

Note: Matlab R2015b is the latest version available for 32bit Operating Systems

6. Download and Install R2017a. During the install select “Log in with a MathWorks Account” and click Next

 

7. Enter your DIT email address (i.e. StudentNumber@mydit.ie or Staffnumber@dit.ie) and your MathWorks password and click Next

8. Select the only license available and click Next

9. Select the products you want to install and click Install.
