The International Study Group Programme at Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), Ireland is a short term study experience offered to students from around the world. Programmes are tailored to suit the needs of the participants and can include academic study, professional development, teacher training, Irish cultural experiences alongside English language training where required.

DIT is the largest third level institution in Ireland, and can cater for students from all disciplines and backgrounds, including tourism, computing, business, engineering, arts, languages, science and technology.

You should participate in the DIT International Study Group programme if:

  • You would like to develop your knowledge of a different educational and cultural environment, in an English speaking country

  • You would like to meet and work with students from your own discipline in another environment

  • You would like to improve your English through dedicated English language courses, while immersed in an English speaking country

  • You would like to develop highly important skills such as team work, independent learning, critical thinking, communication and group based learning

  • You would like to experience industry environments related to your discipline in an English speaking country

In addition to your classes and learning activities, during the Study Group Programme you may:

  • Visit the research and innovation facilities in Dublin Institute of Technology, including the industrial incubation centre run by the DIT Hothouse

  • Visit significant historic landmarks throughout Dublin, including St Patrick’s Cathedral, a local historic building which hosts the DIT graduation ceremony

  • Visit towns and cities throughout Ireland, including the historic cities of Galway, Kilkenny and Waterford

  • Undertake shopping trips on Dublin’s famous Grafton Street, and in Kildare Village – a large retail area outside Dublin city

  • Undertake industry visits to companies relevant to your discipline

We will help to organise:

  • Accommodation

  • Airport Pickup

  • Maps and tours

  • Any additional cultural or social activities

We will always be on hand to help and support participants throughout the International Study Group session
