Do I Need a Visa?

Students who hold passports from the following countries and regions DO NOT REQUIRE an entry visa, but are required to register with the Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB) within 30 days of arriving in Ireland. There is a charge of €300 for registering with the GNIB. In addition, passport holders from the European Economic Area do not require an entry visa.

Students holding passports from all other countries MUST apply for an entry visa through the nearest accredited Irish embassy or honorary consul. The Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service (INIS) has produced Student Visa Guidelines.   Students can get details here of Irish Embassies and Offices Abroad. All students are required to register with the Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB) within 30 days of arriving in Ireland.
