Research at DIT
Research is a vital and dynamic component of DIT activities. Along with research carried out in faculties the Institute is involved in cutting edge research across a range of associated Research Centres and Groups.
Professor Ellen Hazelkorn is DIT's Director of Research and Enterprise and Dean of the Graduate Research School.
The Graduate Research School supports and develops graduate research education across the organisation and its community of research students and research student supervisors.
DIT is committed to nurturing existing and emerging research areas across the organisation and has identified the following cross-disciplinary research themes for particular focus:

- Food & Health Sciences
- Social, Business & Economic Development
Hothouse DIT's Technology Transfer Office has been established to assist companies and entrepreneurs to start and grow businesses based on DIT research and to assist DIT colleagues and students to commercialise their intellectual property.
Enterprise and Research Development Services provides support for enterprise, sponsored and graduate research across all areas of the Institute.
