From September 2014, colleagues and students from the following locations will be located on the Grangegorman campus:
The Library, Cafeteria and Student Services will also re-locate.
This move is both exciting and challenging. A steering group chaired by Mr. Kieran Corcoran, Head, School of Art, Design and Printing, is coordinating the preparation and the move itself, in consultation with the Grangegorman Development Agency, architects and planners.
Work is underway now on the redesign and redevelopment of a number of listed buildings at Grangegorman to bring them into educational use. Colleagues and students in Art, Design and Printing; Social Sciences and Law; and Photography will be located in these signature buildings for a three-year period, until 2017.
In September 2017, two new quadrangles will be completed and ready to welcome 10,000 DIT students and colleagues. In preparation for this, discussions are at an advanced stage regarding the internal layout of studios, lecture rooms, offices, library, cafeteria and student services. Colleagues and students from Art, Design and Printing; Photography; and Social Sciences and Law will move to the new facilities once completed.
Updates on the relocation, including images of the plans and work in progress, will be available here as the project progresses. In the meantime if you have any queries please contact your class representative or Chair of the Steering Group, Mr. Kieran Corcoran.
