How to make your first appointment
During Term Time:
Appointments Booking Procedure:
Complete the Intake form (click on link ).
Within 5-7 working days you will then be sent a link by email which will allow you to book your First Appointment (Assessment Session) at the next available time that is suitable to you. You can attend any of the campus sites on this booking service.
During this Assessment meeting the counsellor will work with you to find out your needs. In many cases this one meeting provides enough support for you to manage your situation without further help.
Otherwise the Assessment helps us identify if you would benefit from ongoing counselling (1-5 sessions) or other supports. During very busy times there may be a delay while you wait for your follow-up appointment, but we will arrange an appointment as soon as possible. We also provide Group Support which may be an option for you.
If required we offer information on other services which may assist you within DIT or in some cases referral to external services such as Primary Care Services, Addiction Treatment Services, Psychiatric Services etc. as appropriate.
In the event of an Emergency that cannot wait to follow the Appointment Booking Procedure above:
Student Counselling Service provides an Emergency drop- in service every day :
DIT Mountjoy Square (Room 324) 2.00pm on Mondays
DIT Aungier Street (room 2042) 9.30am on Tuesdays
