"Tipping / Point" launched by Dutch Ambassador, May 2010

"The idea of a tipping point underlies my recent work. It is an idea that inheres almost all social behaviour. It defines the moment of critical mass, an uncertain threshold in a secular society. It is the point at which an object or mood is knocked out of a state of balance into a different state."
Writing in "Tipping / Point" Anita Groener, the artist and lecturer in Fine Art, explores the influences on her recent work. There are also incisive texts by Arno Kramer, artist and curator of the Drawing Centre Diepenheim The Netherlands; Seán Kissane, Head of Exhibitions at the Irish Museum of Modern Art; and Robert Harrison, Professor in Italian Literature and Chair of the Department of French and Italian at Stanford University. This elegant monograph, designed by Brian O'Connor/Greenstudio, gives a insight into the artist's approach to her work and methodology. It includes images from her research and photographs of the paintings in galleries in addition to the usual colour plates. Anita is represented by the Rubicon Gallery.
